4 Mental Hacks Millionaires Use

In Mindset by Admin0 Comments

One day, a young man walked passed a group of elephants and saw something that suddenly made him stop.  He was confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a rope tied to their legs. It was obvious that the elephants could, at any time, break away from the ropes they were tied to but for some reason, they did not. He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.

“Well”, trainer said, “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and at that age, it’s enough to hold them.  As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away.  They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.” The young man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were. These powerful and gigantic creatures had limited its present abilities by the limitations of its past.

Creating A Mindset for Peak Performance

Many of us have had truly rotten pasts that by some accounts, should have taken us out of the game long ago.  There are many millionaires and billionaires today who have had very rough beginnings too.  The only way to get from where you are now to where you want to be is to do something different than you’ve been doing to get results different from what you’ve been getting.

It’s really as simple as hacking a few key parts of your life to get dramatically different results in the quality of life you’re having.

  1. Your Environment
  2. Your Friends & Family
  3. Your Perception of Reality
  4. Your Vision

Hacking these 4 parts of your life for the better are the only *I repeat* the only four elements to getting whatever it is out of life you’re wanting.  So let’s jump in shall we?

Your Environment

What are you being influenced by?  Are you even aware of this?  Be aware of what you allow yourself to watch and what you allow yourself to hear.  For years, I haven’t watched the news.  Why?  For two reasons.

1.  If it’s something that’s really important, it’ll get to me.  Always does.
2.  The news, along with many other outlets, stimulate the amygdale (fear center of the brain) to where your perception becomes your reality.  What happens when your perception of the news is your reality?  The news is 95% negative so do you see what this cycle looks like?

To win the game of life, you’ll need a perception that isn’t rooted in fear and negativity.  Fear also tends to make one less prone to take risks and there’s no reward if there’s no risk.  Learn to embrace unfamiliar territory and hate your comfort zone.  Remember that.

Your Friends & Family

Do you have negative, dream killing friends and family members?  You can’t pick your family but you can pick your friends.  Do you also have friends who tend to crap all over your dreams?

“You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.”Jim Rohn

I get it.  Some people you can’t avoid.  So listen up.  Spend big time with big people and little time with little people.  Find a way (no excuses) to spend big time with key players that drive you, inspire you, set your world of inspiration ablaze.  Some people you can spend two days with, others…two minutes.  I’ll leave you to be the judge as to who gets grouped into those categories.

Live full and die empty.  It’s necessary for you to ruthlessly prune these people from your social circles.  You can’t afford to spend any more time sacrificing the person you want to be for the person you are now.

Your Perception

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”Thomas Edison

Take failure for example.  I never understood why people were so afraid to fail.  I’ve understood for years that failure is a great teacher that serves to show me how to re-approach more intelligently from a different angle.  I get not wanting to look stupid in front of that hot girl or look like an idiot in class when you want to answer the question but are afraid that you may not be right.  I totally do.  But no risk, no reward right?

I fucking love it when something is difficult.  That means that automatically eliminates a large percentage of people from going after what I’m in competition for because most people are lazy.  And you know what?  They don’t want to accept that they’re lazy so they rationalize it, “There’s no way people can make 6 figures a month in affiliate marketing, must be a scam”, or “That girl just had a lot of luck, that’s why she’s balling right now.”

‘Fraid not smart guy.  It’s because she traded in the 5 hour t.v. nights for books. How we perceive (and rationalize) things to ourselves, can be very instrumental, or very dangerous.  The choice is yours

So how can we use perception to our advantage in developing a kick ass million dollar mindset?  Easy.  Mimic the perception of a millionaire.  Remember this formula for life.  I’ll explain it further in a future blog post.

Imitate -> Innovate -> Dominate

Success leaves clues.  If you want a winning mindset, then study the person in depth you’re wanting to mimic.  Even down to how they dressed, spoke, their posture…everything.  Your selection doesn’t even have to be exclusive to a single individual.  If you want to mimic the greats, do what the greats do.  I guarantee you it’s not sitting in front of a t.v. for 4 hours or losing yourself in VR games.

Seriously.  STUDY THEM.  I can’t stress this enough!  Turn off the t.v. and saturate yourself with this information.

Don’t have time to read?  I’m assuming you have a job so how long is your daily commute?  Is it 30 minutes to and from?  So instead of listening to Drake’s new album, why not spend that 1 hour listening to an audio book from audible?  After two weeks, that’s 10 hours.  There’s ALWAYS time.  The millionaire and person saying “Hello, can I take your order? (I did this)” each have the exact same 24 hours in a day.  It’s how they use those 86,400 seconds each day that makes the difference in the quality of lives they live.

Your Vision

“Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others”Jonathan Swift

Pay attention to what you’re about to read because I’m about to drop some high level mental hacks that I spent a lot of money to learn.

Vision, is the singular, most important thing you can have for ANYTHING you want to improve.  No I don’t mean the ability to see with your eyes, I mean the ability to see your desired goal as if it were already accomplished.

Why do you need this?  If it’s not already obvious, vision is quintessential for operating in multiple dimensions (yes, you read that clearly) so that you can better equip your present self with the tools necessary to achieve what it is you desire.  Let me explain deeper…

Imagine your most realized desires, dreams and goals.  Now see the you (at whatever age you see yourself having achieved these goals) entering into a time machine and traveling back into the past.  The older you steps out of the time machine and looks at his long forgotten, dreamlike past with awe.  He then comes to your house (the present you), knocks on your door, introduces himself and tells you everything about the future.  He stays with you and coaches you to put you on the proper path to getting to where he got to in his career.

Would that be awesome if that happened?  Hopefully the future you isn’t fat and bald but yeah, that’d totally kick ass right?

You can do this.  It’s a simple hack I’m going to show you.

So often, we continue experiencing the same kinds of relationships and income levels because we continue “living in the past.”  To “live in the future” simply means that we’re going to stop pulling from past experiences to power the present body and start pulling from future experiences to power the present body.

To do this, go in a quiet place and visualize your dreams, get creative and see them as clearly as you can…a day in the life of your dream self.  Who are you talking to?  Where are you waking up each day?  What size is your house?  What car are you driving to work?  Is the business yours?  Get very detailed.  After five minutes so or so of absolute clarity and detail, you’ll notice your mind will start taking over and before you know it, you’re not forcing the creative process anymore…it’s doing it on its own.  Let it go on for how ever long you want but it shouldn’t be less than five minutes.

Take note of the feelings you feel once you stand up and walk out.  Do you feel like that person you just hacked into?  You bet your ass you do.  Guess what?  You can call forth that person back whenever you want.  Do this 3 or more times a week at a minimum.

Next -> Write out your goals.  Not too many, we don’t want the brain over complicating things and scaring itself into paralysis by feeling overwhelmed.  I’d say 3 – 5 would be a good start.  Goals are good but systems make them happen.  Systems detail the exact daily benchmarks to getting to your goal.

Say for instance one of your goals was to be a world class blogger in 2 years.  First, find others who’ve gotten to the level you’re wanting to get to (Imitate) then expound on it.  Pattern them.  It’s really that simple.

To recap: We talked about why your environment, your friends and family, your perception of reality and your vision (or lack thereof) are the paintbrushes painting your future, every second of every minute of every day.  We covered how to manipulate your own brain by increasing your knowledge base, patterning successful people who’ve paved a way for you to follow, and pulling from your future self to power the present you.

My next post will detail my game theory on various pieces cogs in the machine that is an affiliate marketing campaign and my thoughts at the present (setting up the pieces on the board game).
